The Colombian has a deal with the Mallorca club, and it is expected to be made official after the Copa América ends.
Johan Mojica joined Villarreal CF in the 22/23 season after the Castellon club paid the 5.5 million clause. Coming from Elche, Mojica signed until 2026 to reinforce the left-back position of the yellow defense, a position that, on the other hand, was a bit overbooked.
He participated in 27 matches, totaling 1,444 minutes, in which he provided one assist. The intense competition for the position meant that the Colombian player did not get the minutes or consistency he desired. Despite participating in up to 17 La Liga matches, many of them were not as a starter; he came off the bench in 12 occasions.
This situation led to a loan to Osasuna, where Johan could participate in more matches and enjoy greater consistency. He played in 30 matches, 22 of them as a starter, accumulating a total of 2,000 minutes. His great season culminated in a call-up to the Colombian national team for the Copa América, where Mojica is standing out.
The transfer is finalized at a figure close to 2 million euros (nothing is confirmed yet). The 31-year-old player would sign for 3 seasons to compete for the left-back position with the Bermellones.
Actualización 23/7/24: Johan Mojica es, finalmente, traspasado al RCD Mallorca. Firmará por 3 temporadas con el club Bermellón. La cifra del traspaso es cercana a los 2 millones de euros, aunque no llega al número redondo.
